Manifesting is More than the Law of Attraction

In recent popular culture there is a lot of mention of the Law of Attraction. One that quite literally says that what you focus your attention upon, you manifest in your life. This over simplistic view has everyone thinking about attracting all kinds of things into their lives. Some want to manifest money, others want to find their soul mates, and a lot of people are looking for abundance, without really understanding what kind of abundance they need to focus on.

In most cases these people are meeting with a world of disappointment when despite doing what they feel is the way to get the Law of Attraction to work, nothing seems to be manifesting the way it should. This is because when you work with Spiritual Laws, there is always more than one at play. The laws of Physics do not exist in a vacuum, but rather come together to make up our understanding of the physical world.

In the same way there are seven essential spiritual laws that tend to work together to help us manifest what we truly want. The Law of Attraction is just the starting point, it is followed by these laws.

Law of Deliberate Creation
Law of Allowing
Law of Sufficiency and Abundance
Law of Pure Potentiality
Law of Detachment
Law of Polarity

It is only when all of these spiritual laws work in harmony together can you expect effortless manifestation. The key to working with these laws is not to block your enthusiasm with a layer of pessimism.

Today's Call to Action

Set a clear, measurable and well defined goal. "I have tons of money" is not a good example. Make it "I manifest ten thousand extra every month to invest in my ultimate goal of financial freedom."

Use affirmations to keep your subconscious mind and inner critic away from soiling your energy vibrations. This can be tricky and will require constant monitoring. Use stream of conscious writing to check where your thoughts are. Or just do mirror work, you will find yourself pouring out all your innermost fears and desires after a week of constantly talking to yourself.

Allow the good to come into your life in small ways. Only when you show the Universe that you can handle the smaller gifts it sends you with ease, will you move up to the big league of manifestation. If someone wants to treat you for no reason at all, allow them.

Save and spend money with pleasure. Yes, only when you are willing to happily give it away, will you be able to get more of it. Remember when you give away something with joy, you are equally focused on it.The Universe will notice the joy you associate with that object and bring more of it to you.

When you set your manifestation goal, don't let there be a constant shadow over it. Release any doubts, anxiety, desperation that are related to the goal. Know that the Spiritual Laws run just as true as the Scientific ones. They may not seem to be working at the speed you want them to, but have you ever tried rushing a chemical reaction in the lab?

I wish you happy manifesting.

Fear: My Frenemy

There are many things that I would love to do, but I don't. The funny thing is no one else is stopping me from doing these activities. It's just this Frenemy (friend + enemy) I have called Fear.

It could be anything from dancing to a Bollywood number on stage, giving a speech in pure Hindi, conducting a workshop for more than a hundred people, dealing with people who never seem to appreciate you, or anything else that inspires fear.

These are my bear bugs, yours could be different. Still I feel we react in the same physical manner when faced with them. When I think about the activity in question, my heart pounds, my stomach gets butterflies, my mouth runs dry and I am literally running to the bathroom to hide and ride out my fear.

The thing is, even if fear is my enemy because it doesn't allow me to do the things I want to, it is also my friend. It points out areas of my life that can be better if I work on them. It acts as a guide for what I need to do.

Call to Action

Think of one thing that you are reluctant to do. Something that really scares you. It could be a physical activity such as Bungee Jumping. Or something more common place such as standing up for yourself when someone you know puts you down.

Once you have that activity that fears rules for you, think about going bad ass on it. Now confront your fear. Do what it is you fear to face the most. Build up your courage to do what is needed. Ask for Universal Energy to support your actions and then take the leap of faith and jump.

I wish you courage to face your fears.

Start With Small Manifestations

Every book I read on the Law of Attraction told me that I needed to have clear intention before I tried to manifest anything. So I huffed and puffed and cleared my mind with meditations before I decided to try my hand at manifestation with positive statements and a whole lot of mumbo jumbo.

...to no avail.
...zero...zilch...nada.

Then I realized that for every affirmation I made about my manifestation out loud, I was creating a cancelling doubt in the silence of my head. If I said "I manifest a thousand bucks", my inner critic would say, "Yeah right! Whose going to give you a thousand bucks?"

When I became aware of this side order of doubt I was placing along with my main order to the Cosmic Kitchen, I knew I had to switch things around. So I came up with stuff that was totally believable. Things I knew I could easily manifest in the upcoming week.

A feather on the road.
A butterfly in the park.
A chocolate that I saw on TV.
A parking spot in the mall.
A button (yep found one in the washing machine).

Suddenly I was totally owning it! I would manifest exactly what I wanted, and withing a week. The difference here was that I knew it was no big deal to manifest something so small, and so it was easily done.

Call to Action

Three steps to manifestation. First step - write it down. Having your goal written allows you great clarity over what you are trying to manifest. Also test it on the "I Believe I can Manifest" scale where 1 is can't believe I will manifest and 10 is absolutely will manifest. Ideally 7-10 is the zone you will meet success with.

Second step - Imagine that it has already happened. Feel the emotions that you would when the goal is met. Is it happiness? Relief? If you wanted to manifest a house, what would you feel when you walked through that home? Imagine and experience that joy right now. Everything is first created in your mind then in the world.

Third step - Give yourself your due as a Co-Creator. Accept the responsibility that your thoughts are creating your reality. This is a biggie! Most of use are happy to hand over our power to someone else. That is not conducive to manifestation. You need to stand in your full power and own it.

I wish you marvelous manifestations.

Comforting Lies We Tell Ourselves

There is a childhood dream that many of us cherish. It could be to do something exciting and physically demanding, or give a public performance of a talent. The point is not to crystallize the goal, but to see why we have done nothing to make it a reality as yet.

A man I know wants to learn how to play the drums. He's often told me about this dream. Each time I ask him to do something about it, he says he has no time. I got the details of classes being run on weekends in his neighbourhood, and still he couldn't bring himself to join them.

I'm too old to do this.
I don't have the time to do this right now.
It's actually not worth the time and effort I will need to put in.
Can I afford to pay so much for an activity which is not essential?
It makes no difference if I follow my dream as it's not going to change my life.

These are common lies that we tell ourselves when we don't follow our dreams. They may seem very rational and reasonable, but they are killing your inner child. They are reinforcing the belief that you are not worthy. That you don't deserve happiness.

Call to Action

Make a list of all the things that you love to do. It could be something you do everyday or an activity that you have not performed in years. Just keep writing it all down till you have exhausted your brain. If something occurs to you later, keep adding to the list.

Now analyse the list for things that you can do but have been holding back from doing due to various lies you have told yourself. Most often you will find that no one is stopping you from doing things you love, but yourself.

Now pick out at least five things from the list that you can easily do. Over the period of the next week try and do one of these things each day. You will find your inner child coming out to play. You will be in a better mood, and you will feel loved.

I wish you honesty at every step.
Love and light, always

Taking Responsibility

When things go wrong, as they often will in life, what is your response to it? How you deal with life's challenges says a lot about who you are. Suppose you set a goal, make a plan and start following it. Then something upsets the plan and you are left reeling.

Do you decide to give up the course?
Do you blame someone else for causing you trouble?
Do you run to an authority figure and crib about how things went wrong?
Do you sit down and work out what went wrong so that you can attempt to fix it?

Everything happens for a reason. If your project has hit a road block, there is some subconscious pattern in your thinking that has caused it. You don't believe that you can do it, so why should the Universal Energy support you?

If you want positive results, you need to take responsibility of your thoughts, words and deeds. You need to own up to the fact that while you really want the project to succeed, there is something in your heart that is holding you back.

Today's Call to Action

Think of a specific situation where you are feeling blocked. One where you would like to change things to make them better. It could be related to your relationships, career goals, health issues or even finances. You need to pick the one that's most pressing and urgent to you.

Now get out that diary and write down the reasons why you think that this situation is not changing. If it changes will it take you out of your safety zone? What is the payoff for no change taking place? Write down whatever you think is hindering the project.

The next step is to own up to the fact that you are completely responsible for this situation. As you take responsibility for creating this situation, use the technique of Ho'oponopono to release the blocks. Here are the four steps:

Repent for creating the situation - I am Sorry!
Ask for forgiveness - Please Forgive Me!
Express gratitude - Thank You!
Accept yourself unconditionally - I Love You!

I wish you every success that you can claim.
Love and light, always

The Muffin's Miracle

The first thought I had was, boy it’s hot in here. I was rising right along with the temperature and couldn’t wait for things to cool off. Eventually the hot, red glow gave way to a bright light and a breath of fresh air. I couldn’t stop trembling and wasn’t sure if it was because of the change in temperature or my excitement.

As I sat on the table and looked around, I saw a dozen or so siblings surrounding me. Muffins tend to have large families. Our baker was segregating us into two piles. The ones that were crumbling or whose crusts were cracked, got tossed on to a heap in a tray. Others which were deemed meritorious were carefully placed on a turntable.

As the baker’s hand reached for me, I held my breath. I was placed on the turntable last and then the baker walked away with the tray of damaged muffins. From this height I was able to see beautiful cupcakes on a shelf across the room. They were decorated with frosting and sprinkles. They looked absolutely amazing.
I wished I was closer to them so that I could get a better view. I craned my neck, but it did no good. Even before I could relax completely a huge bowl was placed beside the turntable. It hid the cupcakes. I was disappointed. The baker picked up a knife. The metal edge was glinting and it looked sharp. I started panicking. What was going to happen to me? I started praying hard for a miracle.
The knife came closer and closer, I couldn’t look. Then I felt the baker turn me with one hand while the knife slit me in half. I was finished. I couldn’t stop shuddering. Then the baker put a spatula into the bowl and brought out some white frosting. It was cool as it slid between my two halves. I couldn’t believe what was happening.
The spatula repeated dipped in the bowl and covered me till there was no hint of the muffin that I was inside. I was put aside as other muffins underwent the same treatment. I wasn’t sure what was going on, but I was not so scared anymore. The baker picked up the tray which I was on and placed it on a table closer to the cupcake shelf.
I saw beautiful sprinkles of all kinds of shapes and colours in shiny bottles lying besides the tray. That’s when it struck me! My prayers had been answered. I bowed my head as a dusting of sprinkles poured down on me and stuck to the frosting on my body. I was beautiful. I was a cupcake.
Cupcakes are muffins that believe in miracles!

Today's Call to Action

Think about the miracle that you want to happen in your life. What is that one thing, which if it comes true, will change your life completely. Then ask yourself, what in my present energy doesn't allow this miracle to manifest. What are my doubts and misgivings?

Once you find the block, work on it using positive statements, creative visualization and affirmations. Become a magnet for the miracle that you are waiting to happen. Pull in like energies so that you can vibrate at the space where the miracle will take place.

I wish you manifest many miracles.
Love and light, always.

Authentic Happiness : PERMA

Without exception, every human being on the planet is looking for happiness. Unfortunately there is a lot of confusion since the concept of happiness is not the same for any two people in existence.

How then will the billions of humans ever find authentic happiness? With a little help from what Dr. Martin Seligman and his PERMA goals. PERMA is an acronym for Positive (Emotions), Engagement, (Good) Relationships, Meaning (and Purpose), and Accomplishment. Read more about his theory here.

Today's Call to Action

As you clarify what you need to achieve to be happy, you are likely to end up feeling more joy. So here's what you need to do today. Remember that diary in which you wrote down the areas that you want to improve this year? Bring it out again.

This time make a note of all the things you would like to do in order to meet PERMA goals. Think how you can foster Positive Emotions, then write down to actions that you will take to do this. Now remember to perform these actions with full Engagement.

Want to establish Good Relationships? Write down an act of kindness you will do for that person and then go do it. Ponder upon the Meaning of life. Being a part of a greater purpose always gives me more meaning. Be it a spiritual exercise, a charitable offering, or just plain prayers for the good of all. Find meaning.

As you write down these plans there will be a sense of excitement, and some plans. When these actions are performed to your personal satisfaction you will feel a sense of Accomplishment. Become more ambitious with your goals and enjoy the sense of satisfaction that accompanies their successful fruition.

I wish you PERMA Happiness

In the New Year - Plans, Goals and Dreams

Energy changes when we switch years because we believe it changes. The acts of discarding an old calendar from the bedroom wall, and tearing open the wrapping on a new diary, give credibility to the fact that something old is going out while you prepare for something new to take it's place.

As the old year gives place to the new, what have you got up your sleeve?
What are your plans, goals and dreams?
What is it that you want nothing more to do with, and what do you want to invite into your life?

The new year represents a new choice. To be true, we get that same choice everyday that we wake up in the morning, but somehow the promise is more enhanced on the morning a new year dawns. So think about what you want this year, then plan on the goals that will make you realize those dreams.

I've decided to start this blog in the new year to help us all stay focused on what we want to achieve. There will be one new post each week with a single action that you can take to ensure that you are staying true to what you want to do.

Today's Call to Action

Take out that new diary and write down five areas in which you want to make changes this year. Prioritize them as you make your list and look at it often to remind you what you need to focus on this year.

If you are looking for areas that you can improve on, think about relationships, love, happiness, creativity, spirituality, finances, adventures, travel, health, and abundance to mention just a few. Add what matters to you in your list.

I wish you a very happy new year.
Love and light, always.
